CHEAP AND EASY SUPER BOWL PARTY DECOR & SUPPLIES

We hosted our first Super Bowl Party last year and although our team didn’t win (go Birds!), we still had a great time with friends!

I’m usually not a fan of paper plates/cups on the daily due to waste, but they sure make cleaning up after 20 people pretty easy. I actually really loved the design of ours, because we all know it’s about the aesthetic 😉

So let’s dive in so that way you’re prepared to get your super cheap and easy Super Bowl party decor and supplies and be prepared for this coming year – because you’re going to want to get them sooner than you think!

Must have Super bowl Party Items:

Okay, before we get started, let’s chat about items you may want to purchase for the big day.

  • Paper plates – I would suggest getting at least double the plates of the amount of people that you are expecting
  • Cups – I would also suggest doubling the cups ratio
  • Napkins – you can never have enough napkins, especially if you get a solid color that you can use all year around
  • Table cloths – get a cheap one that you can toss in the garbage to make clean up easy – hosting is hard work the way it is!
  • Tin serving containers – these are must-haves to easily keep your food warm or to easily re-warm food on a grill/oven throughout the night if needed
  • Divided serving tray – soooo handy if you’re serving fruits/veggies or just a mix of different finger foods
  • Delicious food! Try our Super Easy One Pot Chili Recipe or our favorite Homemade BBQ Chicken Pizza Recipe

Things to consider while buying Super Bowl Party Decor and Supplies:

  • Are you buying to keep or to toss later on? Decide if it’s going to make clean up a breeze or if you’re planning to keep and re-use for next year. Knowing this can help decide what price points for specific items you’re willing to pay.
  • Are you able to re-use it for other events? Green is a really easy color to go with for Super Bowl decor and supplies. Solid green can go with St. Patrick’s Day, Summer time (watermelon theme), Christmas, etc. When you niche down and have specially football, that’s fine too! Just don’t let those items go to waste and throw more parties throughout the season next year!
  • Are you able to DIY it? Niched down items can be really expensive (taking decorative ceramic/glass with specific designs/lettering) and there are a lot of decor items that can be easily hand made if you’re crafty. Most often times they will be a lot cheaper as well.
  • Shop post Super Bowl. Obviously this doesn’t help you for this coming year, but if you plan on hosting Super Bowl parties in the future, shopping right after the event can save you money for next year!

Now, let’s talk some of our favorite places to get supplies.

1. Hobby Lobby

This is probably my number one place to go for Super Bowl items, however timing is everything.

Personally, I think Hobby Lobby is generally overpriced, so I only buy their items when they’re on sale.

Also, when it comes times for the Super Bowl, if you’re looking for supplies by the time the Super Bowl comes around, you’re too late. You need to get items in the fall. Specially when they have their fall sale.

I’ve gotten football hand towels, football platter trays, foot table clothes, you name it! For a really good price!

I went to Hobby Lobby the week before the Super Bowl and they only had spring items and “cook out” supplies. Not quite the vibe I was going for.

However, that leaves me to my next store…

2. Aldi

I freaking love Aldi!

I will say, sometimes you never know what you’re going to get there. But in a weird way, that’s part of why I love it.

Last year I happened to stumble upon the cutest plates and napkins for our Super Bowl party.

I was also able to get so many supplies for all of our snacks which definitely saved us some money too!

So while Aldi is a little different in the fact they may not be a guarantee to have your super bowl party decor and supplies, it’s definitely worth checking out!

3. Amazon

Must I say more? Honestly, I’m not a huge online shopper so I don’t use Amazon a ton, but you can essentially get everything from Amazon.

I think that’s pretty much all I need to say there.

So, there you have it – get ready to host the next Super Bowl Party at your house!
